About
North South Foundation (NSF) is a Trust established in India. It is headquartered in Hyderabad with the primary goal of awarding scholarships to academically bright students held back for lack of financial resources. It is driven by volunteers in over 20 chapters located throughout the country. The scholarships are primarily funded by The NorthSouth Foundation established in the US in Illinois as a 501c3 non-profit organization.
NSF has started educational contests in 2010 in private schools in Hyderabad and later expanded to Bangalore and Visakhapatnam. The educational contests were introduced in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) in 2014 as a pilot and in steps became a regular system wide annual event. Since then it expanded to Sadhana and Sodhana ( a JNV initiative on NSF platform).
NSF established an autonomous vertical named “NSF Creative Learning & Leadership Initiatives”in July 2020 headed by Ram Kaipa as its CEO.
North South Foundation is a volunteer driven non-profit organization established in Illinois in 1989. It received tax-exempt status under the IRS Section 501(c)(3). All donations are tax-deductible.
Our Activities
North South Foundation (NSF) is a volunteer driven non-profit organization working since 1989 in USA and in India from 2004 at Hyderabad, Telangana. NSF mission is to support students to achieve academic excellence and leadership skills. It supports school students in the USA in winning the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee, and other contests in Maths, Science and Geography. NSF-India is implementing:
i) A Scholarship program for college students and,
ii) The NSF Creative Learning & Leadership (NCL) education initiative is focused on school students.
Our Mission
- Develop human resources by giving scholarships to brilliant but the most needy students in India entering colleges, regardless of religion, gender, caste or creed.
- Help people achieve success regardless of religion, gender, caste, geographic origin by giving hope to those who may have none.
- Reach two million students by 2023

Our Partners
Janyaa, a silicon valley non-profit organization, has pioneered JLIB (Janyaa Lab In a Box for grades 6 to 10) which has 520 experiments in science and mathematics.
Currently, we have rolled out Janyaa experiments in HEAL Foundation, near Vijayawada.
